This was very good for our first meal in San Diego! Was craving noodles and hot the spot at this cute place in the Chinatown part of San Diego! The server was super nice and if you check in, you get a free drink! We got the spicy wontons and they were pretty good. The pickled cucumbers were good, but I wished they had more spice. The sesame noodles were not too bad, but not my favorite. My friend liked her beef noodle soup. Definitely check out this spot when you're in San Diego!

Overall the food is really good. I would say the best dish is the beef roll. It's a must have! The peanut noodle sauce is on the thicker side without being too salty which is what I liked. I did notice that they used to have ribbon noodles in the dish and now they use another type. The ribbon noodle was better but this dish is still good. The pork over noodles are surprisingly very flavorful despite the color when mixed. It for a little salty towards the end of the bowl but that was where all the sauce settled. There was a decent amount of pork and personally i like it more than over rice because the ratio over rice never works out well for me (there's never enough pork for me haha). I would get this again. The servers Paige and Kathleen were very nice and attentive! The seating arrangement is rectangular around a bar like area. It would be more difficult for larger parties so try not to come with more than 4 people. The only con is that there isn't AC but it wasn't too bad. The owner last time gave us ice water when we were waiting outside in the heat to seated. That was very nice.

Our family was in San Diego for a vacation and formoosa was a short drive away. We ordered take out on a Friday night and that turned out to be a good call. The parking lot was packed. I'd suggest bringing a friend and have them hop out to pick up your order while you circle around. Multiple cars made their own parking spots so some areas became unintentional one way lanes. We ordered beef rolls, onion pancakes, popcorn chicken, multiple dumplings, crullers (Chinese donuts), pickle cucumbers, sesame balls, pork noodles and rice. The food was all delicious and ready when we showed up. We'd definitely recommend checking out formoosa and its sister restaurants.

Paige and Sean were our servers, and they worked very hard to make sure the guests got their food in a timely manner and received friendly service, despite being the only two working the front. The jasmine green tea was very yummy, definitely recommend. The pork in the pork over noodles was a little salty, but every other ingredient was amazing in the dish. The cucumbers were the "cucumber salad" flavor (sesame oil and some type of vinegar I reckon), which was my favorite part of the dish. My boyfriend got the pork over rice which is the exact same dish but rice instead of noodles. I'd recommend getting the noodles instead.
